The Wandsworth LA Calculation Policy and Medium Term Plans are available to all Wandsworth Primary Schools in the Wandsworth LA Primary Maths Community pages on the NCETM website. 'A significant role for the National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics (NCETM) is to support senior leaders in primary and secondary schools to implement the new National Curriculum for mathematics when it is launched this autumn and for statutory first teaching in September 2014.
In readiness for this, the new 'Essentials' package Implementing the New Curriculum signposts links to useful resources on the NCETM portal that will help senior leaders and teachers to plan and implement the new programmes of study. These pages are part of a wider programme of support for the implementation of the new curriculum, which includes an accredited CPD programme for professional development leads (PD Lead Support Programme) who will be working directly with schools and which develops their expertise in key areas of the curriculum changes. A list of Accredited Leads can be found in the NCETM CPD Providers Directory. Further information about the new Curriculum will be published when it is available.'
I use talk maths a lot, which is problem solving and reasoning based and comes in 'flavours' for Y4-6. It isn't a free app though, think each version is £2.99.I group of my y5's and 6's presented with me at BETT (ICT show) in January 13 on using apps in the classroom and their favourite apps, many of which are maths based, and I've put some of their favourites below.
Maths Sumo- fast paced mental maths questions against your partner.
Operation Math- Secret agent themed maths game- good range of difficulty
Eggs on Legs, ghost blasters and multiple wipeout- the same games that are on the internet/computers by interactive resoruces.
Number Run- a temple run style game with maths questions- children seem to love it, especially in KS1.
Motion Math- good FDP resoruce
Glow Burst- was the children's top maths app- in effect number ordering (but including negative numbers etc) but challenging enough and addictive that even many of our staff want to remain on the top the leader board :)
Number Board- a good variety of difficulty and requires a decent ammount of reasoning and thinking ahead in the higher levels.
TribbsHD- good for developing mental calcution and reasoning.
Mathmeteer (formerly called motion math)- a space based game which children love, and is/was free- a wide range of maths concpets covered. A word of warning though- adults (myself included!) often find the navigation to the game (which includes building/choosing a rocket etc) confusing, but no child that I know of has ever got confused- must be a generation thing! :)

Mr Wolf- great for time telling
Bee Bot- another one of the childen's top apps that they choose to go on again and again- bascially the BeeBots but in an app with different challenges etc...
Lots of the other apps are, of course, very good too, but the ones above are what the children picked out!

iPad apps
